Participation of Twerd Energo-Plus in the 34th Scientific and Technical Conference PEMINE

Date of publication: 25.06.2026

On June 17–19, 2026, the 34th Scientific and Technical Conference “Problems of Operation of Electrical Machines and Drives” – PEMINE took place. Every year, this event serves as one of Poland’s most important platforms for knowledge exchange in the field of electrical drives and machines. This year’s edition was held at the STOK Hotel in Wisła. The thematic scope included, among others, the operation, diagnostics, and safety of electrical machines, power electronic supply systems, and renewable energy sources.

The conference was attended by our colleague, Marcin Paprocki, PhD, Eng., who gave a lecture entitled “MFC1000 Frequency Inverters with Back-spin Control in High-Pressure Pumping Stations” as part of “Session IV: Electromobilty, Power Electronics, and Special Machines”.

The presentation focused on a solution offered by Twerd Energo-Plus – dedicated to demanding pumping systems, such as progressive cavity pumps (screw pumps), where the key issue is the phenomenon of uncontrolled backward rotation of the rotor after power disconnection. The MFC1000 series frequency inverters were designed with motor torque control using advanced vector control in mind.

The additional back-spin algorithm implemented in them quickly detects power failure and controls the pump system in such a way that it does not accelerate in the opposite direction (under the pressure of the falling liquid column) to dangerous speeds. Thanks to this solution, the risk of costly mechanical damage to the pumping unit is eliminated, and the time required to resume safe operation is significantly reduced. The practical utility and full application maturity of this technology are confirmed by the successful deployment of the entire system in oil fields.

All abstracts of the papers presented during the event were published in the official conference materials. More information about the event itself can be found directly on the PEMINE conference website.
