We are pleased to announce that TWERD Power Electronics Ltd. has once again received the title of Innovation Leader of Pomerania and Kuyavia 2022 in the Small Enterprise category. This time, the jury recognized our development of the EVC500 Wallbox DC wall-mounted charger, which enables fast charging of electric vehicles.
The EVC500 charger supports DC voltage charging standards CCS and CHAdeMO. Charging with DC voltage makes the charging power independent of the inverter built into the car, as the entire energy conversion process takes place inside the charger, not the car’s inverter, as is the case with AC chargers.
The charger is available in three variants:
- AC/DC – the basic version, intended for installation wherever an appropriate power connection is available. If the connection power is insufficient, the charging power can be limited through software.
- AC/DC V2G – the basic version extended with V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) support, in which the car battery is treated as a mobile energy storage.
- DC/DC – supplied with direct current; compatible with energy storage systems and photovoltaic or wind installations; used in mobile chargers for emergency charging of electric vehicles.
